This section of your course will be covering a range of skills to help you cope with your professional role as a Medical Secretary.  Nothing to do with IT, Administration or preparing business documents – but really more to do with helping you with the one million and one other things you will need to cope with in your professional role.

Building your self confidence and self esteem, helping you to develop first class communication skills and customer care skills, know how to develop and maintain effective working relationships as well as being effective in organising your workload and keeping stress free as possible!

You will be referring to the The Definitive Personal Assistant & Secretarial Handbook by Sue France for these lessons.

When you have finished all the lessons in the 4 units below, you will complete 4 Assessments which will include case study analysis which will help you to relate to key elements of a Medical Secretary role:

  • Customer Care Skills
  • Managing Workload
  • Telephone and Communication Skills
  • Maintaining Professional Working Relationships

By focusing on these key elements you will develop a deeper level of understanding of the needs of patients, colleagues, team members as well as your department you may be working within enabling you to cope with the demanding role of a Medical Secretary.
